Is the retreat for students or teachers?

The retreat is for everyone! New students, long time practitioners and teachers are all welcome.

What airport do I fly into?

San Jose International Airport (SJO)

Will I need a passport for travel?

Yes, you will need a passport.

Will I need any vaccines to travel to Costa Rica?

Any individual traveling to Costa Rica that has been in transit, whether in airports, sea ports or land borders, in the following countries, will require the yellow fever vaccine: Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

Additionally, any individual traveling to Costa Rica from South America and/or sub-Saharan Africa will need the yellow fever vaccine.

Is there a shuttle from the airport? How do I arrange it?

Yes. Shuttle transportation to and from San Jose International Airport (SJO) is included at no extra cost to you.

You must arrange your shuttle transportation at least 72 hours prior to your arrival.

To arrange the shuttle: Go here and then select the “Group Shuttle Reservations” circle.  Fill out the information and then click on “submit”.  The form will go to Pura Vida’s staff and they will then email you a shuttle confirmation.

What if I have special dietary needs?

All meals will be offered buffet style. Pura Vida will provide 3 daily meals, buffet-style. Nutritious, healthy, delicious. They can accommodate different dietary needs and restrictions. Any other special needs can be addressed; please email rima@restonyoga.com.

Is there a laundry service available to guests?

Yes. It is $8 per load for wash, dry, and fold.

What should I tip?

Pura Vida recommends that attendees bring $200 USD cash for tips throughout your stay. There is NO ATM on site — so please plan to take out cash before you arrive at Pura Vida.

The resort recommends a $50 cash tip for the general staff be given to the front desk agent at check out.  However, that $50 general staff tip does not include gratuity to: the airport shuttle driver, spa therapists, specific staff members, or tour guides (if you do an excursion). So please plan to devote your additional cash tips to those staff members should you use their services.

Will I need an adaptor for my electronics, phone charger, etc?

No. The outlets are the same as U.S. outlets.

Do I need to bring my own mat to the retreat, or will there be mats available to rent?

You can bring your own yoga mat if you wish. However, Pura Vida has their own inventory of yoga mats that you can borrow for class.

Will towels for practice be provided by the hotel?

Yes, the hotel will provide 2 towels per attendee per class.

I have a roommate, how do I designate with whom I want to share a room?

If you have a roommate preference, all parties need to register under Double Occupancy or Triple Occupancy.  After payment, email us at anne@restonyoga.com with your roommate requests. If we don’t hear from you, we will match you up with others who are also looking for a roommate.

What are the rates if I plan to stay outside the Retreat dates (arriving before, or staying additional days after?)

Contact Linden Dudley at Pura Vida, at 888-767-7375 x233 or email:  reservations@puravidaspa.com to book extra nights.  Participants receive 10% off Pura Vida’s nightly rates.

Is there a recommended packing list (other than yoga clothes)?

Flashlight, alarm clock, sunscreen and hat, bathing suit, day pack/backpack, walking/hiking shoes, sandals with straps, sweater/sweatshirt, insect repellant, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner & soap are provided), travel size blow dryer, warm pajamas (cool nights), water bottle, and rainwear/poncho (May-November).

Are there refunds available?

No, there are no refunds available. Please check your calendar and register for the Women’s Retreat only if you are absolutely certain you can attend with no unforeseen conflicts. Thank you.

Is there an airport departure tax?

Yes. After the retreat is over, there is a $29 airport departure tax that you must pay at SJO airport before you check in with your airline. You can pay the departure tax by Visa, MasterCard, or in cash. There is an ATM in the airport lobby before security.
